CHRONOLOGY
NU Classic Theatre has been training, work-shopping and performing since 2003. All artists are alumni from Columbia University’s Graduate Acting Program. Our productions have toured in New York, California, Germany and Italy. We have taught workshops, participated in symposia and performed in international festivals.
March 2008: Zibaldone, New York, New York. Funded by the Romanian Cultural Council to develop a DVD tutorial that will accompany a new book entitled Commedia dell’Arte: Exercises, Practice, Theory and History.
October 2007: Shakespeare Festival, Essen, Germany. Collaborated on and performed in a multi-lingual production of The Comedy of Errors with companies from the Czech Republic, Germany and the U.S. Hosted by Folkwang Hochschule.
June 2006: Arezzo Festival, Arezzo, Italy. Performed Scapin in outdoor repertory style performances and workshops along side companies from Dublin, Berlin and Seoul. Hosted by Accademia dell’Arte.
June 2006: Residency at La MaMa ETC, Spoleto, Italy. Granted rehearsal space for the development of Scapin. Street and piazza performances in the style of commedia dell’arte.
May 2006: The Maids, Mainz, Germany. Hosted by Institut für Theaterwissenschaft.
May 2006: Dramaturgical Symposium, Berlin, Germany. Taught a workshop on various acting principals, led a discussion panel on “the work of the actor” and performed Dr. Faustus Lights the Lights, The Constant Prince, and The Maids at the Hebble Am Ufer theater. Hosted by Freie Universität.
December 2005: Weimar Dada Festival, Germany. Produced a Dada film that was the opening act at the 2005 Dada Festival.
July 2005: The Maids, San Diego, California. Produced at Adam’s Avenue Studio of the Arts.
